Whilst there is no statutory requirement to do so, ESTC require candidates for co-option to do the following:

  • Provide information about themselves by way of a short application form.
  • Confirm their eligibility for the position of Councillor within the statutory rules.
  • To attend at least one full Town Council meeting before the co-option meeting (as a member of the public).
  • To meet with as many Councillors as possible prior to the Town Council meeting at which the Town Council will make its decision on the co-option. The purpose of this meeting will be to determine the applicant’s suitability by reference to the Person Specification and to respond to any questions which the applicant might have.

The next ESTC Full Council meeting will be on Monday 13 June 2022 at 7.30pm.

Please submit your Co-option and Eligibility Application Form to the Town Clerk by 4pm on Wednesday 08 June 2022 to be considered at this meeting. Candidates for co-option will be invited to attend the Full Council meeting on Monday 13 June 2022 to make a short, maximum 5 minutes address to the Town Council giving your reasons for wishing to be considered as a Town Councillor. If you would like further information, please contact the Town Clerk or any of the existing Members of the Council (Councillors).
