Earl Shilton Town Council is saddened to receive notice from Age UK of their intent to surrender the lease on the Earl Shilton centre at the end of May.

Chairman of Earl Shilton Town Council, Cllr Richard Allen  commented “Earl Shilton Town Council has been talking to Age UK for several months regarding the provision of services at the Earl Shilton centre.  To facilitate the changes required by Age UK,  legal counsel has advised that a new  lease would be needed.

Age UK have been invited to discuss such a lease on a number of occasions, and that invitation remains open.  The Council has and will continue to pursue all options that may ensure the continuation of services for residents of the town.”

The Council has been advised that patronage of services at the Earl Shilton centre dropped dramatically during the pandemic and have not subsequently recovered.
